EDUCATION
Ankur completed his schooling from 'Don Bosco School' in New Delhi, India and then opted for a B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) degree in Physics from Hindu College (1998-2001). He then did his Masters of Science (MS) in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Michigan State University (2002-2004). He also has a MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree in Finance from Indian School of Business (2005-2006).
CAREER
Ankur belonged to a very middle class family but he never compromised with his freams and goals. Since his childhood he was very clear about his dreams, he knew what he wanted to do. As a child, he wished to get a phD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree from a good college in the US. Join NASA as a Space Scientist and also wanted to become the first man on Mars.
In 2002, he tried very hard and was able to make it to a top US university for a PhD. program in Physics (on a full scholarship). He landed in the US and was doing great in his class, but he felt this was not what he wanted, he came to knew that he was good at Physics but was not happy doing it. With all these thoughts in his mind, he dropped out of his PhD program and decided to move back to India. When he came back to India, he decided to get a MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree in Finance from Indian School of Business (2005-2006).
After getting his MBA degree, he joined Kearney as a management consultant. Alongside Kearney, he started to work with a couple of batch mates from ISB (Indian School of Business) on his first venture – called SecondShaadi.com
In 2009, he quit his consulting job at Kearney to join the startup full-time and over the next couple of years he alongwith his team built several other websites across automobiles, education, finance. The big one of that became Gaadi.com, which eventually got sold to goibibo.com in 2010. In 2016, he started an online video series called “warikoo Wednesdays” on LinkedIn where he spoke about his experiences as a founder, a CEO and a people manager. In 2011, he started Groupon’s India business as the founding CEO (Chief Executive Officer), served as the CEO at Groupon from March 2011 to July 2015. In 2015 he founded 'Nearbuy.com'. Ankur acted as the CEO of Nearbuy until 2019 when he stepped down from the post while the other 2 Co-Founders 'Ravi Shankar' and 'Snehesh Mitra' taking in charge as the CEO and the COO of the company respectively. He served as the CEO at Nearbuy.com from August 2015 (when the company was formed) to October 2019. He is currently a Board Member and the Co-Founder of 'Nearbuy.com'. He has more than 7.8 lakh subscribers and over 20 Million total views on his YouTube channel 'warikoo'.

1. Since his childhood Warikoo wanted to become a Space Scientist at NASA.
